In autumn 2020, we were able to officially register our association, and since then we have been active and capable of acting as a separate legal entity. This is the result of years of work towards founding and registering the association. To avoid an obvious misunderstanding: the association does not serve to bring together paedophiles seeking help as members, but to organise our team and make it more capable of acting to support outsiders. Anyone who would like to actively participate in SuH is welcome to apply to the team.
Our activities are financed and made possible by donations. From time to time we plan to organise fundraising campaigns with a specific goal, such as securing the operation of the server for the next year. To take this as an example: 5 people who are willing to donate 7€ per month (as much as a streaming subscription costs) are enough to finance this.
The purpose of Schicksal und Herausforderung e.V. is to combat both discrimination and disinformation with their consequences in relation to people with a paedophilic sexual preference, to counteract sexual assault and to support those affected in finding satisfaction, health and happiness in life. These goals are formulated in the statutes:
The first aim of the association's work is to support self-help among paedophiles in order to prevent exclusion, including its consequences and delinquent behaviour, in particular sexual acts by adults with children. We consider such behaviour to be irresponsible towards children and therefore unacceptable. All members of the association expressly recognise this position and act accordingly.
A second equally important goal is to educate society about and destigmatise paedophile sexual preference. Questioning the relevant age limits of the sexual offences law is not one of the aims of the association.
