For non-assaulting pedophiles, appropriate sexual medicine treatment is still hard to find. If you need a therapy in which your own sexual preference can also be discussed (or which mainly deals with it), you often have to take long distances and waiting times or search long until he or she finds really competent help.
On this page we collect the known sexual medical specialist advice centres from the entire federal territory and beyond. Our listing makes no claim to completeness; We are happy to accept supplementary proposals. And for the competence of the individual therapists you will meet there, we can of course not put our hand in the fire. It is a listing to our best knowledge and conscience but without guarantee.
If there is reason for criticism or potential for improvement, please inform the relevant bodies directly. Criticism can only grow if it is also voiced. And often the facilities are still in development. If there are fundamental problems, please also inform us if we have to decide whether we continue to list the project in question in this list.
The best-known and most widely used service is the Prevention network „Kein Täter werden“ with headquarters at the Charité in Berlin. It is also called Prevention Project Dunkelfeld and therefore partly PPD and partly KTW abbreviated. From our point of view, KTW is the most competent therapy offer known to us. Current information on new locations and the therapy concept can be found on their website. There is also an offshoot of the network, which is aimed at adolescents with sexual abnormalities and offers them therapy under the title You dream of them. The KTW network now comprises at least one location in almost every federal state. For Saxony-Anhalt, a concept for remote treatment was implemented, which can be read more under kein-taeter-will.de/sachsen-anhalt.
As a network, KTW is not a monolithic entity like a company with many branches. It is a voluntary association of different teams and institutes. There are common standards for treatment and a common therapy manual but no harmonization among the sites. In our experience, we encounter slightly different circumstances and attitudes in detail at each location. And of course, all individual therapists each bring their own very individual training and experience background. In terms of competence, however, all experts involved should deliver similarly good therapies through the common standards and the manual.
A common misconception is that KTW can only accept clients who have never been delinquent before. It is true that if no previous procedure is ongoing and a possible punishment has already been fully served, participation in the therapy there is also possible as a former offender. This may be due to the name Prevention Project Dunkelfeld from the early days, which refers to the fact that there are currently no crimes known to the court (Hellfeld) that could influence the motivation to take up a therapy.
The Behandlungsinitiative Opferschutz originally comes from Karlsruhe but has been trying to position itself more broadly regionally for a few years. Fairly, we are listing the project here, but we can do it as of mid-2021 so far Not fully recommended: Little is known about the exact therapy concept, as unfortunately no proper exchange of information with their team has been achieved so far. The little communication there was was rather irritating. Speeches by those involved and the wording on their website strongly convey the impression that therapy of paedophiles is for the team primarily crime prevention and victim protection and a matter of justice rather than mental health. At a conference in Andernach, the judge and chairman of the board of the association Klaus Michael Böhm repeatedly emphasised the latter: Therapy of paedophiles is crime prevention and thus the task of the judiciary and not of the health care system. These formulations also show no awareness of the enormous stigmatization of pedophile sexual preference. This leads to fears of a one-sided therapy, which is not really aimed at the well-being of patients, but rather at protecting the population from them.
At least one interview with a participating therapist, on the other hand, painted a much better picture of the program. As a team, we could only meet one man who introduced himself to us as a therapy participant of BIOS-BW, and he was full of praise for their therapy concept.

Sozialstiftung Bamberg The special outpatient sexual medicine department of Klinikum Bamberg offers an extensive range of therapeutic treatments. These range from sexual impairments caused by traumatic events, sex addiction and impairments and medications. In addition, the clinic offers therapeutic help in the procedure. Under the name Project Hellfeld - Therapy in Procedure therapeutic support during criminal proceedings is possible. In addition, the clinic offers the project I can change.
