This is the english website of the German Association “Schicksal und Herausforderung” which translates to “Fate and Challenge” and describes how we view the sexual preference for children:
Our association and this platform along with our other projects is focussed on peer-support among people with a pedophilic sexual preference who acknowledge that sexual offences have to be avoided under all circumstances. We collect and provide information to fight the widespread misinformation about pedophilia along with the strong stigmatisation in society and media. Basically: Pedophilia is a way people may feel (a sexual preference, inclination or orientation, whatever phrase you prefer) fundamentally distinct from actions, while child sexual abuse is a criminal action someone willingly decided to commit. And child sexual abuse is neither even committed by pedophiles most often nor is it a result of pedophilia itself at all. We will go into more detail elsewhere. The main aim is to reach out to people who are struggling with the realisation of being attracted to kids because of misinformation and a lack of orientation, and to provide help, orientation and hope. Given this strong stigmatization some people with pedophilia fall for the narrative of either sex with kids being okay (offender ideology) or of pedophiles being monstrous and evil in general. Both cases can cause a lot of harm — in the pedophiles themselves and in kids since both further sexual abuse. We aim to work against those developments.
Our team has just relaunched this very website in autumn 2021 with this new design. It has been up and running since September of 2006 which makes it one of the first and probably THE oldest platform internationally to consequently represent and further the idea of a non-offending lifestyle for pedophiles. We are planning to expand this english version to some degree but not to the same extend as the german version for now. So expect new topics and translated texts to pop up.
After a looooooooong phase of preparation our new and fully revise and reworked website goes online. We welcome all our long-term readers along with our new guests to Schicksal und Herausforderung!
The new design has been optimized for desktop and for mobile devices, the website's structure has been reworked to make it simpler, and there is an association to represent now so that is done with this website as well. Most of the main content has been rewritten and many more content is planned for the forseeable future in the german version. This english version will be expanded as well but that may take some time. In english there are other more rich ressources already so we'll keep this short and simple and mostly just translate our main topics for an international audience.
